In a world where “green” is now the “it” thing, we recognize the need for a level of scrutiny to determine the accuracy behind green product claims. We have developed an evaluation tool for building products to help make the decision process easier when choosing green products and materials

The evaluation tool is used in three different ways:

A) Simple Listing – a condensed version of the evaluation tool where a minimal amount of questions are asked regarding the product’s sustainable attributes.

B) Enhanced Listing – a detailed list of questions regarding the product’s sustainable attributes, the manufacturing process and the company who makes the product.

C) Gap Analysis Consulting – an extensive process where we work one-on-one with a manufacturer to evaluate their product, manufacturing process, and the company themselves. At the end of the consultation manufacturers walk away with tools and tailored solutions for implementing green innovations

Green Alberta's unique evaluation process is built on internationally accepted standards of sustainability and compliments existing green building rating systems such as LEED®.

This evaluation process has been used by manufacturers across North America and has been found easy to follow and understand.

The Green Alberta evaluation system collects a detailed set of data, which measures a product's environmental, economic and social impact and highlights its greenest features in a friendly format for design professionals and consumers.
